Cracknore Hard

Cracknore Hard is a free public slipway on the Marchwood shore of Southampton Water, reached by the track past the former Husbands shipyard. Southampton Water here is a working shipping channel with roughly 70,000 commercial vessel and ferry movements a year, so paddlers are advised to keep well clear of moving ships near the container terminals. A round trip from the hard up to Totton Bridges and back runs to about six miles.
