Carr Mill Dam slipway
Carr Mill Dam is a 55-acre reservoir north of St Helens town centre, near Seneley Green, and is the largest body of inland water in the area. It was built as a mill pond and later enlarged to feed the Sankey Brook Navigation, and it now hosts national and international powerboat racing run by the Lancashire Powerboat Racing Club, founded in 1923.
