Hightown slipway (Sefton coast)
This slipway sits on the Sefton coast at Hightown, close to where the River Alt reaches the Irish Sea at the edge of the Mersey Estuary. The foreshore here forms part of the Ribble and Alt Estuaries Special Protection Area, and the adjoining Altcar Rifle Range restricts some approaches to the beach.
