Iffley Lock Boat Rollers

Iffley Lock Boat Rollers is a concrete slipway with wooden and metal rollers beside Iffley Lock on the River Thames, known locally as the Isis, letting canoes and rowing boats portage around the lock rather than pass through the chamber. The lock sits on the river's southern approach into Oxford, next to the village of Iffley, and dates from an original 1631 structure rebuilt in 1793 and 1927.
