Backaland put-in
Backaland is Eday's ferry pier on the island's east coast, where Orkney Ferries runs daily sailings to and from Kirkwall. A slipway sits beside the pier, with a public toilet nearby. The water off Backaland forms part of Eday Sound, the channel separating Eday from Sanday.
